Right Before the Breakthrough… Most People Quit
💡 This Week’s Insight: Is It Moving the Needle?
I had one of those honest conversations with myself this week — the kind where you realize you’ve been working hard… but maybe not working smart.
I looked back at my calendar and saw hours blocked off for admin tasks, organizing folders, updating systems — all things that felt productive, but didn’t really push the business forward. It was like I was cleaning the deck chairs on the Titanic instead of steering the ship.
We talk a lot about “working on your business, not just in it,” but the truth is: not all work is created equal.
Some tasks grow your revenue.
Some tasks grow your reach.
Some tasks grow your relationships.
The rest? They’re often just polished procrastination.
This week, I started filtering my to-do list through a straightforward question:
“Will this move the needle?”
If the answer was no, it was delegated, scheduled for later, or deleted entirely. It was uncomfortable at first, but powerful.
🎢 The Dip: When You Want to Quit… But Probably Shouldn’t
One of the most impactful books I’ve ever read as an entrepreneur is Seth Godin’s The Dip. It’s all about that painful middle ground — where motivation fades, growth stalls, and self-doubt kicks in like a linebacker.
We’ve all felt it:
You start something new, energy is high, ideas are flowing, momentum builds — and then… crickets.
The growth slows.
The excitement dulls.
The grind sets in.
And that’s where most people quit.
I almost did.
When I started my YouTube Creators Hub podcast, I released 16 episodes and then stopped. I figured maybe no one was listening, and it wasn’t worth continuing.
But something nudged me to check the stats before I shut it down completely… and what I found floored me: tens of thousands of people had been tuning in.
That moment changed everything.
Now, over 400 episodes later, the show is still going strong — not because I never felt the dip, but because I pushed through it.
“The Dip is the long slog between starting and mastery. It’s the place where most people give up. But if you’re going to quit, quit before the Dip… not in it.”
– Seth Godin
So here’s the reminder: sometimes the dip isn’t a dead end — it’s a test.
Keep going.
🎙️ Trust is Built Slow and Lost Fast
This week on the YouTube Creators Hub podcast, I had the chance to sit down with someone I’ve admired for a long time — Roberto Blake. If you’re a creator, you probably know the name. Roberto is a speaker, educator, and longtime YouTube strategist who’s helped thousands of creators grow purposefully.
One thing he said during our chat stuck with me:
“Trust is the most valuable thing you build — and the easiest thing to lose.”
Whether growing an audience, coaching clients, or building a brand, trust takes time; one careless shortcut can destroy it overnight.
It’s a reminder for all of us: growth isn’t just about numbers. It’s about integrity, consistency, and doing what you say you will — even when no one’s watching.
