Grief, Growth, and Moving Forward

Remembering My Grandma

This week has been a tough one for me personally. My Nana passed away — and while I’m incredibly grateful for the time I had with her, it’s never easy saying goodbye to someone who played such a big role in shaping who you are.

She was one of the hardest-working and kindest people I’ve ever known. She loved her job and the people she worked with. This will forever be ingrained in me as I grow my business.

We shared laughs, stories, and many memories that I’ll carry with me forever. I’m thankful for the time I had with her.

Overwhelmed but Moving Forward

Lately, I’ve had a lot on my plate. I’m in the thick of building a new course, launching two new podcasts, and — oh yeah — still doing all the other day-to-day things that keep the business and life rolling forward.

Here’s the honest truth: I know I’m heading in the right direction. The vision is clear. The excitement is real. But sometimes… it still feels like too much.

Like, deer-in-headlights, “where do I even start?” kind of too much.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by good things — the kind of things you prayed for or worked hard to earn — you’re not alone.

What’s helped me lately is breaking everything into smaller, bite-sized chunks.

Instead of “build the entire course,” I’m just focused on scripting the next lesson.

Instead of “launch the podcast,” I’m focused on outlining the intro episode.

One small win at a time.

This mindset shift doesn’t magically erase the overwhelm — but it keeps it from running the show. Progress over perfection. One brick at a time.

📚 What I’m Reading

This week I started a new book by Mel Robbins called Let Them. I’m still early into it, but so far it’s already sparked some thoughts around boundaries, control, and letting go of what you can’t change.

More thoughts to come — but if you’re a fan of Mel’s no-nonsense style, you might want to check it out for yourself.

My New Favorite Task Manager (And Yep, the Name’s Fun Too)

In my ongoing battle against overwhelm, I’ve stumbled across something that’s been a total game-changer: TickTick.

It’s simple, clean, and just robust enough to handle everything I throw at it — without sending me down a rabbit hole of feature overload. For once, I’m not app-hopping or tweaking my setup every week. I’m just… using it. And it’s working.

I’ve realized that overcomplicating my productivity system was just another form of procrastination in disguise. TickTick does exactly what I need — and I actually enjoy using it (bonus points for a name that’s fun to say out loud).

If you’re looking for something new to manage your day-to-day without overwhelming you, it might be worth a look.

We also snuck away this past weekend to Sevierville, TN, to a water park as a family and had a ton of fun!
